IDÉES-AFRIQUE is proud to announce the publication of the 7th issue of its journal Policy Notes: Solutions for Public Action, dedicated to the theme Philanthropy, Patronage, and Politics.

This issue offers a multifaceted and comparative perspective on the dynamics of philanthropy and patronage in Quebec and Africa, through original contributions from renowned researchers and practitioners.

The main feature includes three scholarly articles. Amina Wazoumi Ignanoné, a doctoral student at the School of Management at the University of Sherbrooke, analyzes Centraide Estrie’s innovative governance model, which is centered on hybridity, community engagement, and social innovation. Jean Claude Kouadio, who holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Rennes 2, explores the interdependent and dependent relationships among actors in Ivorian philanthropy. Sambou Ndiaye, from Gaston Berger University in Saint-Louis (Senegal), examines CSR as a lever for territorial development in the context of gas exploitation on the Langue de Barbarie.

The Interviews section features Nadia Duguay, Executive Director of the Béati Foundation, who shares a well-researched and passionate reflection on a more horizontal, participatory, and transformative approach to philanthropy.

In the Politics and Society section, Dr. Raoul Tamekou Tsowa offers an analytical overview of Imagine Canada’s April 2025 report on the situation of racialized and immigrant workers in Canada’s nonprofit sector, highlighting the contradictions of a sector that struggles to embody internally the values of social justice it promotes.

The issue also includes a critical review of Volume IX of *General History of Africa Revisited* (UNESCO, 2025), written by Dr. Tamekou Tsowa.

*Notes politiques* is available in digital format ($20) and in print ($25). Annual subscriptions (3 issues) are available for $60 online and $75 in print. To subscribe: info@idees-afrique.ca
