Mission

Contribute to the sustainable transformation of the african continent and to the strengthening of relations prosperous, multi-dimensional and long-lasting between theAfrica and Canada — through the production of knowledge, capacity building and theaccompanying social transformations, political, economic, and environmental.

Vision

Become a recognized reference in theanalysis of issues in contemporary african and a major player in the building of the Canada–Africa relations, leveraging the synergy of all four families of knowledge : knowledge of local african, institutional knowledge, knowledge that is academic in the North, and knowledge of the other " Suds ".

Values

Scientific Excellence, responsibility (" Fawodhodie ene October na enam "), inclusiveness and diversity, solidarity and reciprocity, innovation, democratic governance, sustainable development and social justice.

Guiding principles

Independence. No political interference, partisan or financial chair of our scientific direction and editorial.

Justice epistemic. We value the diversity of knowledge, of languages and intellectual traditions of african and diasporic.
Rigor. Any production- based methods verifiable, peer review and transparency of sources.
Cooperation. We are committed to working in a network, the structured partnerships and the co-construction with the local institutions.
Accountability. Our reports, accounts and balance sheets are public and accessible.
Social economy. Primacy of people over capital, purpose of service to members and the community, and democratic governance.
