Composed of experts from international institutions and African universities, the Scientific Committee helps shape IDÉES-AFRIQUE’s scientific policy. It provides input on research programs, suggests conference topics, and helps build on the issues being studied. Its members are involved in reviewing scientific publications and may participate in research activities.
The Humanitarian Committee
The Humanitarian Committee’s mission is to draw on African knowledge and practices developed in the Global South to shape the global humanitarian debate. It seeks to promote local humanitarian initiatives in Africa and to improve responses to humanitarian crises on the continent (such as conflicts, natural disasters, and food insecurity).
The Political and Public Relations Committee
The Policy and Public Relations Committee supports African decision-makers in developing public policies and reforms. It helps influence decisions, guide change, and mobilize public opinion around the continent’s major development challenges. The committee is also committed to promoting a positive image of Africa.

The Committee on the Environment, Food Security, and Climate Change
This committee addresses the major challenges posed by climate change to agriculture and food security in Africa. It makes recommendations to build resilience, adapt to climate change, and mitigate its impacts. The committee promotes an integrated approach
that combines food security, climate change adaptation, and emissions reduction.
